Last month I attended Saige and Skye's popular weaving workshop along with Clara of Cyarnhut (@cyarnhut). Learning how to weave has been on my list of things to learn for a very long time. I feel every weaving has a story woven into it and it's very therapeutic much like the other fibre activities such as knitting and crocheting. When I found out Jolynn had a spot in her upcoming weaving workshop I clicked the buy button right away.
When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely spread of food catered by My Edible Advice (@myedibleadvice). On the table in the middle of the room was a beautiful handmade wooden loom with each of our names on them and a basic weaving kit to take home afterwards. After picking out the yarn colours we wanted to use for our weaving, Jolynn started teaching us the fundamentals of weaving. From how to warp your loom to finishing off your woven piece of art. She guided us patiently along the way giving her tips and tricks to weaving.
The time went by really fast as we were all having such a great time creating our weavings. I learned a lot in this one session and went home with enough materials and knowledge to continue weaving by myself after the class. I hope to apply the new techniques I've learned to my weaving projects and continue improving on my skills.
Here are the weavings that Clara and I created during the class:
If you're looking to learn how to weave or macrame I would suggest looking into one of the classes Jolynn teaches throughout the year. You can follow her on IG (@saigeandskye) or purchase her classes over on her Etsy shop.
